I had a shady spot in my garden just crying out for an arum lily, so I bought one from my favourite plant man. "It won't flower this year," he said. "Don't worry, I have patience," I said. "I'm a gardener." He laughed. Well, I didn't need much patience in the end, as this lovely specimen of Zantedeschia aetiopica flowered this year in September, rather than in April or May next year.
